This contribution will add a full support of a Google Checkout service to your OscMax store.

While using Google checkout at your OscMax store you will be able to allow your customers to buy from you quickly and securely, using a single username and password without any account creation. And once they do, you can use Google Checkout for OscMax to charge their credit cards, process their orders just from your OscMax admin panel you've got used to and receive payments in your bank account. For more information about Google Checkout service please refer to 'why google checkout' and 'getting started' pages of the officical google checkout site.

So why you sould use our Google Checkout for OscMax? Review the following reasons:

Check Requirements

Google Checkout service requires the following to be able to use it (only for real Google Checkout account, omit for sandbox account):

• Google Checkout merchants must have a U.S. bank account and address
• A Social Security number and a valid credit card.
• A Federal Tax ID/Employer Identification Number (EIN)
• Your shop must be HTTPS secured by 128-bit SSL v3 or TLS connection (SSL v2 is not allowed) in order to send and receive google processing commands while using a real google checkout account.

How It Works? Or typical order process using Google Checkout for OscMax

Placing an Order

This section will illustrate the typical order flow if you are using google checkout for OscMax. It is assumed apriori that you have already installed the google checkout for OscMax to your on-line store.

Goto your online store. Browse for categories and products you wish to purchase here. Fill in your shopping cart and open an appropriate page in the online store (a Shopping Cart page). At the bottom of the shopping cart page, below the usual Checkout button you will see a Google Checkout button available:

Press the Google Checkout button in order to be redirected to a google checkout page:

Verify the shopping cart items are correct, create an account at the google checkout or sign in if you are already a registered user to proceed to the shipping & taxes page:

You will see a dropdown box were 'Calcualting...' text appears for up to 3 seconds. This is were google asks your server to obtain a proper shipping & taxes methods and costs for a particular customer's address. After up to 3 seconds, depending on the shipping modules you are using, you will get a live shipping & taxes rates:

Select the shipping method comfortable to you (tax is calculated automatically) and you are ready to place the order. Press place order button at the bottom of google checkout page

If your order was placed successfully, you will see a thank you page of Google Checkout.

Receiving an order: OscMax Admininstration

If the order was placed successfully, it will be automatically placed in the OscMax Administartion area of your shop. Goto Administration Area, select Customers->Orders menu item. In the orders table, you will see an order that you have placed:

Goto Edit mode using an Edit button in the right column. Review the order details, sub-total, tax & shipping. When an order is placed at the Google checkout, Google send you a notification with all order details. At this time, the order is written into OscMax with Google order Status named 'REVIEWING'. After Google have finished the order reviewing, it sends a new notification to your store informing that order is CHARGEABLE, and a risk information if present. All this information is stored in your OscMax individual order page. Please note that order can only be charged if google send a notification with CHARGEABLE status. If the merchant calculation was performed successfully, it is also noted in orders status comments:

At the botom of the orders page in OscMax Administartion area you will see a Google Checkout controls for this order:

You will be able to Charge, Track, Cancel, Refund, Archive or Unarchive the order the same way as in Google Checkout Account. All chnages that you will make in here will be visible aslo in your Google Checkout Account and appear in new notifications in the order status comments.
